From Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, 1602:

DUKE ORSINO:
If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.
That strain again! it had a dying fall:
O, it came o'er my ear like the sweet sound,
That breathes upon a bank of violets,
Stealing and giving odour! Enough; no more:

The above soliloquy from the great William Shakespeare in a paradoxical way sums up Salvo’s love of music. Salvo will eat, drink, breathe, and sleep music… even if his body can’t take no more. He will not hesitate to take another bite… such is his love of music!

One of Salvo’s earliest memories is the sound, rhythm and the mysterious power of music. The way music could touch his soul and change his moods. Salvo could never sit still when he heard the rhythm of music passing through his veins and feeding into his soul.

This fact was not lost on his mother. When he turned 9 his mother bought him his first instrument: his first vessel to make, craft and fashion his own musical visions.

The instrument was a blow piano… This may not mean much to you and me but this blow piano transformed the 9 year old boy’s life and in the process also made his mum‘s life easier. To find Salvo all she had to do was to listen out for the music he was creating. For Salvo took his vessel everywhere he went. Whether it be bed, the bathroom, the dining table, or to play football on the streets... His instrument would always be beside him.

It was his first taste of creating music. Sadly though, he had to rely on his heart and soul in order to create music because even to this day Salvo still cannot read music

I use the word sad advisedly, because the opposite is true. Not having the ability to read music has proved a blessing in disguise. Salvo now has a finely tuned ear for music. He can now memorise a tune in his mind and recreate the same tune from memory. This is the gift he was born with and blessed with.

He does not compose by numbers . He composes from his soul.

The next event that shaped Salvo’s musical life is when his sister, Daniela , bought him a casio keyboard for his 14th birthday. At the age of 11 he had already started composing his own music - which he would play to his mother and sister, and this was his reward.

Now he could truly perfect his art. From memory he started playing tunes ranging from the Pink Panther theme music to the composer Beethoven  and quite literally everything in between.

Salvo was soon in demand playing keyboards at house parties, and other venues, including even playing an organ in a church.

The young man was hungry to chase his twin dreams of acting and music so he left his native country ( Italy ) and headed for London at the age of 20.

Life has its way of meandering around, always bending and twisting, never moving in one direction. And so was it with Salvo and his life in London.

However, in the 12 years since he has been chasing his dream in London Salvo has learnt a lot of new rhythms and sounds to add to his already vast knowledge of music.

Now finally he is ready to blend all his musical and life experiences together to touch our hearts and souls through his music and lyrics… Just as his heart and soul was touched by other artists as a young boy.

Salvo has already composed 2 records ’ pain of love’ and ‘Resuscitation’ . Both these records have musical videos to accompany them and you will see for yourself how comfortable and at peace Salvo looks when he is sitting down and playing his trademark musical instrument - the piano.

It is hard to tell where one starts and the other ends as Salvo and the piano appear to be one and the same person.

Salvo has also produced music for all his recent film work which can be found on his acting section of this website.

Now that the river of life has opened it’s banks and invited Salvo to finally reveal his soul we can look forward to seeing both his musical and film careers blossom then explode.
